[Purpose]The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of perceived social support as an antecedent of entrepreneurial intention and social competence of university students. [Methodology]Korean and Chinese undergraduate students participated in this study. Data was analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 23 version for frequency and factor analysis. Multiple hierarchical regression analysis was applied to test the established hypotheses. [Findings]Perceived social support affects entrepreneurial intention and social competence of university students significantly. Social competence also plays a role as a full mediator in the model. [Implications]The social support is an essential and powerful element in promoting entrepreneurial intention and social competence of university students, regardless of the nationalities. Policymakers need to develop a broader and diverse programs to build up the atmosphere favorable to entrepreneurship.
