범죄예방을 위한 패키지디자인 전략 사례 분석 - 영국, 매장절도 방지를 위한 디자인 사례를 중심으로 -

Along with the recent increase of the number of convenience stores, shoplifting has become a serious social problem which causes economic and resource loss. It is a relatively common crime type committed by adolescents, and active discussion is required as it is seen as a preventable crime. This study focused on the crime- preventive aspects of package design for a safer society. In addition to the existing commercial package design, the importance of discussion of crime prevention design became more significant in the present time of transition to a digital society. The purpose of this study is to analyze crime prevention package design strategy centered on ‘Design Against Crime’ in the UK, which is one of the earliest cases of crime prevention package design, and to suggest a direction to apply to the store environment in South Korea. Crime theories and theories of CPTED were examined and 8 design outcomes from the ‘Design Against Crime’ were analyzed. The study concluded that it is important to understand the behaviors of the stakeholders related to crime including the offenders and victims, and reducing the desire to commit crimes by adding risk factors when committing.
