다문화 청소년의 개인 특성 변인, 학교적응, 삶의 만족도의 구조적 관계 분석

In this study, the effects of body satisfaction, achievement motivation, and self-esteem of multicultural adolescents on school adaptation and life satisfaction were analyzed. For this study, the data of 1,347 people who participated in the fifth year of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study established by National Youth Policy Institute were analyzed using a structural regression model, and the results are as follows. First, multicultural adolescents had a positive effect on school adaptation in the order of achievement motivation, self-esteem, and body satisfaction. Second, achievement motivation had a negative effect on life satisfaction, self-esteem had a positive effect on life satisfaction, but body satisfaction did not affect life satisfaction meaningfully. Third, school adaptation was found to have a positive effect on life satisfaction. In the analysis of direct and indirect effects, body satisfaction had an indirect effect on life satisfaction through school adaptation, achievement motivation had a negative direct effect and a positive indirect effect on life satisfaction. Self-esteem had an indirect effect on life satisfaction through school adaptation. This study is valuable in that it obtained implications to increase life satisfaction by focusing on individual characteristics in terms of cognitive, emotional, and physical aspects of adolescence and school adaptation. In further study, systematic and multidimensional ways need to be embodied to increase life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents by consideration of various variables such as a more macroscopic environment.
