발전원별 연료비 단가가 전력가격에 미치는 영향: 분위 회귀 적용

본 연구에서는 우리나라 도매전력시장에서 발전원별(원자력, 석탄, 석유, LNG) 연료비 단가가 전력가격에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 시계열의 적분 차수가 다른경우 공적분 검정에 적합한 자기회귀시차분포(ARDL: autoregressive distributed lag model) 한계검정이 실행되었다. 내생성 문제를 고려하여 동태적 최소자승법(DOLS: dynamic ordinary least squares)이 사용되었고, 발전원별 영향의 차이를 분석하기 위해 분위 회귀(quantile regression) 방법이 활용되었다. 분석 결과 첨두부하를 담당하는 석유, LNG 연료비 단가는 전력가격에 유의한 양(+)의 영향을 미치지만, 기저부하를 담당하는 석탄과 원자력 단가는 전력가격에 유의한 음(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 분위별 추정계수는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 전력가격분위가 커짐에 따라 원자력의 추정계수의 절댓값은 커지지만, LNG 추정계수의 크기는 적어지는 것으로 나타났다. 원자력은 다른 발전원보다 전력가격 안정화에 중요한 역할을 하고, 전력가격이 높아질수록 가격 안정화에 이바지한다는 것을 추측할 수 있다.
Abstract
In this study, the effect of unit cost of fuel by power generation source(nuclear, coal, oil, LNG) on system marginal price in Korea was investigated. Given the mixed order of integration, an autoregressive distributed lag model(ARDL) bounds test was employed to test for cointegration. In consideration of the endogeneity problem, the dynamic ordinary least squares(DOLS) method was used, and then a quantile regression method was used to examine for the different effects depending on the quantiles of electricity prices. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the unit price of oil and LNG(peak load power generation) has a significant positive effect on the electricity price, but the unit price of coal and nuclear power(base power generation), has a significant negative effect on the electricity price. It was found that the influence of nuclear power became greater in the higher decile of electricy price than that of the lower decile. The effect of LNG became smaller in the higher decile of electricy price. This confirms that nuclear power has played an important role in stabilizing electricity prices than other generators, and the effect is high especially in the higher decile of electricy price
