우리나라 자영업자의 진입에 관한 탐색적 연구

우리나라 자영업자의 선택과 진입에 관한 대부분의 선행연구는 대단위 데이터를 활용한 계량데이터 실증분석방법을 채택하고 있어, 자영업자들이 구체적으로 어떠한 동기와 경로에 의해 자영업에 진입하는지에 대해서는 여전히 의문점으로 남겨져 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구 공백을 채우고자 자영업자 13명을 대상으로 자영업을 시작하게 된 동기와 경로를 탐색적으로 규명했다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자영업자에 진입하게 된 동기는 ① 자영업자는 취업에 대한 대안으로 자영업에 진입했고 ② 전 직장의 근로조건 불만족과 본인 사업을 향한 꿈의 실현을 위해 자영업을 선택했다. ③ 가족과 지인의 창업에 대한 권유와 도움으로 창업을 시작했다. 둘째, 자영업에 진입하게 되는 유형은 ① 임금노동자 경험 후 자영업자 창업 ② 임금노동자 경험 후 유관분야 자영업 창업 ③ 임금노동자 퇴사 후 자영업 승계 ④ 본인의 자영업 창업 후 자영업 가업 승계를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 자영업자의 선택과 진입을 유형화하여 탐색적으로 제시했다는 측면에서 우리나라 자영업자 관련 후속연구의 기반이 될 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the motivation and path of self-employment for self-employed who participated in the SME education program of OO Bank-N. In this study, in-depth interview data were used to conduct research on entry of self-employment according to the labor market and labor experience of self-employed and subjects suitable for the purpose of the study were selected and analyzed using theoretical sampling methods. The results of the study are as follows. First, the motivation for entering self-employment to realize unsatisfactory working conditions and dreams for their own business, to choose self-employment as an alternative to employment, and to recommend and help family and acquaintances start their own businesses. Second, it was analyzed that the type of entry of self-employement was ①self-employment after wage worker experience ② self-employment using their experience after wage worker experience ③ self-employment after retirement ④ self-employment in the family business succession process.
