초록
바이오미미크리는 자연이 가진 원리를 인간 산업에 적용함으로써 혁신적인 결과물을 얻는 것을 의미한다. 오늘날 과도한 개발로 인한 환경문제는 지속가능한 발전에 대한 관심을 증대시키면서 자연의 원리를 적용하는 바이오미미크리를 지속가능한 건축을 위한 접근방법으로 바라보는 시도가 이루어지고 있다. 바이오미미크리를 활용한 건축디자인은 결과적 측면에서 건물의 기능 개선만이 아닌 건물이 구축되고 운영되며 향후 폐기되는 전체적인 과정에서까지 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 가지고 있다. 하지만 이러한 가능성에도 불구하고 아직까지 바이오미미크리 건축디자인에 대한 이해는 새로운 형태 유형이나 부분적인 기술 등 단편적으로만 이루어지고 있는 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구는 바이오미미크리를 건축디자인에 활용하는 방법과 이를 통해 나타나는 결과에 대한 분석을 통해 바이오미미크리 건축의 디자인 접근 특성을 체계화하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 우선 본 연구에서는 문헌 및 선행연구를 통해 바이오미미크리의 개념과 이를 활용한 건축에 대한 이론적 이해를 진행한다. 이론적으로 고찰한 바이오미미크리의 개념과 선행연구 분석 내용을 종합해 바이오미미크리 활용 방법과 결과를 통합적으로 이해할 수 있는 분석기준을 마련한다. 그 다음 바이오미미크리를 활용한 건축디자인 사례를 분석한다. 사례 분석 대상은 2011년부터 2020년까지 바이오미미크리를 건축디자인에 적용한 사례를 기준으로 하며 바이오미미크리 활용 방법 및 활용 결과로 구분해 분석함으로써 바이오미미크리 건축의 디자인 접근 특성을 도출한다. 결론적으로 바이오미미크리는 건축에서 결과적 측면만이 아닌 디자인 과정에서도 영향을 미치며 이러한 과정은 복합적인 프로세스를 통해 진행된다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 건축에서 바이오미미크의 적용은 복합적인 측면에서 이루어져야 한다.
Abstract
Biomimicry means innovative results by applying the principles of nature to the human industry. Today, environmental problems caused byexcessive development have increased interest in sustainable development. There are also attempts to look at biomimicry as a way tosustainable architecture. Architectural design using biomimicry improves the function of the building in terms of results. It can also be usedin the overall process of building, operation, and future disposal. However, until now, understanding of the architectural design usingbiomimicry is only done in fragments, such as new types of forms and technologies. Therefore, this study analyzes the method of usingbiomimicry in architectural design and the results shown through it. It comprehensively studies the design approach characteristics ofbiomimicry architecture. First of all, this study proceeds with a theoretical understanding of the concept of biomimicry and architecturaldesign using it. Based on this, we analyze the case of architectural design using biomimicry. The case are analyzed by dividing them intomethods of using biomimicry and results of using biomimicry. Through this, the design approach characteristics of biomimicry architecture arederived. As a result, it was confirmed that the concept of biomimicry not only affects the result of architectural design, but also complexlyaffects the process of applying natural principles to design and architecturally implemented.
