초록
본 연구의 목적은 (1) 최근 여러 대학에서 표방하고 있는 ESG 경영의 현황을 정리하고 (2) ESG와 관련한 대학의 역할에 대해 논의하는 것이다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 광범위한 문헌을 수집 및 분석한다. ESG 관련 학술논문, 보고서, 언론 보도자료 등을 통해 ESG 관련 자료를 수집하고 이를 분석한다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. (1) ESG 관련 학술연구는 최근 급격히 증가하고 많이 수행되었다. 향후 다양한 주제와 분야의 연구가 필요하다. (2) 국내 대학의 ESG 관련 교과목 개설이나 교육 프로그램은 아직 초기단계이다. 다양한 교과목 및 교육과정 개발이 필요하다. (3) 국내 대학이 자발적으로 ESG 경영을 하고, 이를 실천하여 ESG 문화확산에 기여할 필요가 있다. 본 연구를 통하여 ESG와 관련하여 대학이 연구, 교육, 지역 기반 기업 및 서비스 제공자로서의 다양한 역할을 하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이는 ESG 문화확산을 위해 대학의 역할이 중요함을 보여주는 것이다. 그리고 대학의 ESG 경영은 피할 수 없는 현실이며, 대학도 ESG 평가에 직면해 있음을 보여주는 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to (1) summarize the current status of ESG management, which has recently been advocated by various universities, and (2) discuss the role of universities related to ESG. A wide range of literature is collected and analyzed to achieve the research purpose. ESG-related data are collected and analyzed through academic papers, reports, and media press releases related to ESG. The results of the study are as follows. (1) ESG-related academic research has recently increased rapidly and has been conducted a lot. Research on various topics and fields is needed in the future. (2) ESG-related courses or educational programs are still in early stages. Various curriculum development is needed. (3) It is necessary for domestic universities to voluntarily conduct ESG management and practice it to contribute to the spread of ESG culture. It was confirmed that universities play various roles as research, education, and regional-based companies and service providers in relation to ESG. This shows that the role of universities is important for the spread of ESG culture. In addition, ESG management of universities is an inevitable reality, and it shows that universities are also facing ESG evaluation.
