중소기업 ESG에 대한 향후 연구 및 지원정책 방향: 키워드 네트워크 분석을 중심으로

초록
최근 ESG 경영에 대한 사회적, 학문적 관심이 증대되고 있다. 특히, 2022년 2월 EU집행위원회가 ‘EU 공급망 실사지침안(directive on corporate sustainability due diligence)’을 공개한 이후로 중소기업의 ESG는 학술적, 실무적으로 매우 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 키워드 네트워크 분석을 통해 중소기업 ESG 뉴스기사, KCI에 등재된 ESG 논문, ESG 지원정책 등을 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중소기업 ESG 뉴스기사를 분석한 결과 제시된 대부분의 키워드가 중소기업 ESG 지원기관인 것으로 나타났다. 이는 사회적관심도가 중소기업 자체의 ESG 역량강화보다 중소기업에 대한 ESG 지원에 더 큰 초점이 맞추어져 있기 때문으로 판단된다. 둘째, KCI에 등재된 중소기업 ESG 연구결과를 분석한 결과 중소기업을 대상으로 한 ESG 연구가 상당히 제한적으로 수행되어 왔다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 중소기업 ESG 지원정책을 분석한결과 중소기업을 대상으로 하는 ESG 지원정책은 대부분 환경이슈에 초점을 맞추고 있었으며, 지배구조의 측면과 관련된 지원은 전무한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 중소기업 ESG에 대한향후 연구방향과 정책방향을 제안한다.
Abstract
Recently, social and academic interest in ESG has been increasing. In particular, ESG of SMEs has become a very important academic and practical issue since the EU Commission released the ‘Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence’ in February 2022. In this study, through keyword network analysis, ESG news articles, academic ESG papers in KCI and ESG support policies for SMEs, etc. were analyzed, and the results are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing ESG news articles targeting SMEs, most keywords were presented as ESG support institutions for SMEs. This is believed to be because social interest is more focused on ESG support for SMEs than on strengthening ESG capabilities of SMEs themselves. Second, as a result of analyzing ESG academic papers published in KCI targeting small and medium-sized enterprises, it was confirmed that ESG research targeting SMEs has been conducted quite limitedly. Finally, as a result of analyzing the ESG support policies for SMEs, most of the ESG support policies focused on environmental issues, and there was no support related to the aspect of governance of SMEs. Based on these analysis results, this study proposes future research directions and policy directions for ESG of SMEs.
