본 연구는 코로나 19로 인한 비대면 활동시대에서의 대중들의 메타버스 인식을 분석하기 위해, 주요 소셜미디어를중심으로 2020년 3월부터 2022년 2월까지 최근 2년의 데이터를 수집하여 데이터 마이닝 작업을 실시하였다. 메타버스 연관어 및 감성어에 대한 기초통계 분석과 함께 주요 연관어 생태계 분석을 통한 이슈특성을 주제별로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 메타버스 확산 초기 단계에서의 대중들의 포괄적인 인식은 긍정적으로 분석되었다. 또한 대중들은 비대면 소통이 가능한 플랫폼을 선호하기 시작하면서 메타버스에 대한 관심 주제가 기업과 콘텐츠 소비에 집중된 키워드양상을 나타내고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 메타버스라는 기술에 대한 대중의 긍·부정 인식분석과 함께, 주요 관심키워드를 생태계 구성요소별로 분석하였다. 이는 사회적 이슈와 지원이 필요한 부분에 대해 기술공급자가아닌, 기술수용자인 대중의 관점에서 분석한 것으로 메타버스 생태계 균형발전의 기초자료료 활용될 수 있을 것으로기대된다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the public perception of the metaverse by analyzing social media data between March 2020 and February 2022. In addition to the descriptive statistics on the metaverse-associated and sentiment words, the metaverse-associated words are analyzed to identify key issues of the metaverse ecosystem and their key characteristics by theme. The results show the public overall have a positive perception on the metaverse in its early stage before a full-fledged spread. Furthermore, the key themes signifying the public interest in the metaverse and related key themes tend to be focused on the related firms and content consumption since the public have started to prefer platforms enabling ‘contactless’ communication over other media. It also illustrates that the public’s positive and negative perception of the metaverse technology, along with the keyword analysis for each component of the metaverse ecosystem. Therefore, this study is expected to be a useful reference in exploring a balanced development of the metaverse ecosystem due to its significance in focusing on the perspectives of technology users rather than those of suppliers.
