제주지역 지식기반산업의 생산성 결정요인에 관한 연구

This study estimated the labor productivity and total factor productivity, for companies belonging to the knowledge-based industry in Jeju and analyzed the factors influencing such productivity. The results of the analysis showed that the efficiency of Manufacture of electronic components, computer; visual, sounding and communication equipment(C26), Manufacture of electrical equipment(C28), and Manufacture of other machinery and equipment(C29) was high; large scaled companies had high efficiency; Financial and insurance activities(K64~66), Research and development(M70), Computer programming, consultancy and related activities(J62) had high productivity in the knowledge-based service industry. It is therefore determined that such businesses will be likely to develop as growth engines for Jeju in the future. It constructed three kinds of models, for an analysis on the determinants of the productivity: the whole knowledge-based industry, knowledge-based manufacturing industry and knowledge-based service industry. The capital investment, human resources and the market share commonly have significantly positive effects on the productivity, in three models. Only the local industrial specialization has a positive effect on the knowledge-based manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, the R&D investment, which has a positive effect on the whole knowledge-based industry and knowledge-based manufacturing industry, has no significant effect on the knowledge-based service industry. This study has an implication, in that it conducted a basic analysis for activating the local economy in Jeju, as an analysis on the corporate productivity, from the perspective of local economy.
