광둥어 커뮤니티 디자인을 위한 인터넷 문화기술지 기반의 탐색적 연구

The development of Cantonese appears to be very optimistic, but in reality, the number of people in China using Cantonese is continuously declining. In addition to its role in regional communication, Cantonese plays a crucial role in promoting economic development, maintaining regional prosperity, preserving local culture, and establishing identity. Therefore, this study focuses mainly on online communities of Cantonese speakers, aiming to explore the social problem of Cantonese development difficulties through an exploratory design research approach that combines design and anthropology. The research method employed is netnography, a fusion of design and anthropology. Four Cantonese online communities on the Chinese video platform Bilibili were selected as the research scope. The research findings and content are as follows. The study integrates three key issues contributing to the difficulties in Cantonese development, including the misinterpretation of Mandarin promotion policies, the lack of Cantonese services, and the absence of Cantonese education. Additionally, five core themes were identified within the Cantonese online communities: “Regional Culture”, “Spiritual Life”, “Cantonese Development”, “Folk Cultural Identity”, and “Cultural Attitudes”. Based on these research results, this study provides starting points for future sustainable design research on Cantonese.
