디지털 위기경보 단계의 의미작용을 위한 디자인 연구

Many disasters such as typhoons, forest fires, fine dust, and COVID-19 are occurring due to natural cause and human factors. The crisis alert system was introduced in 2004 to systematically manage national crises; government departments have been issuing crisis alerts since then to manage disasters. Upon entering the digital society, the government actively started changing from text messages and media alerts to a digital system. This study was conducted to propose design guidelines for disaster crisis alert levels considering the digital environment’s specificity. Previous studies on disaster crisis alerts and the definition of each level of the alerts were examined through theoretical research, using the signification model by Roland Barthes; a case analysis was conducted to improve user awareness of crisis alert levels. Thus, components required for the symbols of disaster safety and the specificity of the digital environment were derived. Based on these components, this study suggested the design for digital disaster crisis alert levels to be signified to users by examining web-safe colors, color contrast, and patterns. This should provide different levels of digital crisis alerts with standard guidelines.
