스타트업의 외부환경과 경쟁력이 경영성과에 미치는 영향: 정부의 창업지원의 조절효과를 중심으로
A Study on the Impact of the External Environment and Competitiveness on the Performance Outcomes of a Startup: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of the Startup Support of the Government

본 연구의 목적은 스타트업의 경쟁력과 경영성과에 대한 연구에 있어 시장불확실성, 외부네트워크, 기업경쟁강도에 대해 스타트업의 외부환경의 요인으로 제시하고 분석을 시도함으로써 스타트업의 성장을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데에 있다. 본 연구는 서울·경기에 위치하고 있는 스타트업 창업자 493명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, SPSS 26.0, AMOS 26.0 프로그램을 사용하여 통계분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 스타트업 외부환경인 시장불확실성, 외부네트워크, 기업경쟁강도는 모두 경영성과에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 스타트업외부환경인 시장불확실성, 외부네트워크, 기업경쟁강도는 모두 기업경쟁력에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 스타트업의 기업경쟁력은 경영성과에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 스타트업 외부환경인 시장불확실성, 외부네트워크, 기업경쟁강도 모두와 경영성과의 관계에서 기업경쟁력은 유의한 매개효과가 있는것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 스타트업의 [외부네트워크→기업경쟁력], [기업경쟁력→경영성과] 경로에서 정부창업지원이 유의한 조절효과가 있음을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 스타트업 성과와 관련된 연구 분야에 기여함은 물론 국제화를추진하고 있는 스타트업 기업들에게도 실무적인 관점에서 의미있는 시사점을 제공할 것으로 보여진다.
Abstract
This study was undertaken to examine the effects of external environment factors and competitiveness on startup performance outcomes based on considerations of market uncertainties, external networks, and the intensity of business competition. The study findings were as follows. First, external environmental factors, namely, market uncertainty, external networks, and the intensity of business competition, had positive, significant impacts on business performance. Second, these environmental factors had positive, significant impacts on business competitiveness. Third, startup business competitiveness positively and significantly impacted business performance. Fourth, an analysis of relationships between business performance and external environmental factors, encompassing market uncertainty, external networks, and the intensity of business competition, showed that business competitiveness significantly mediated startup performance. Fifth, governmental startup support programs significantly moderated the [external network ' business competitiveness] and [business competitiveness ' business performance] paths of startups.
