민선8기 지방선거의 중앙정치화 경향 분석과 함의

This study analyzes the trend of centralized politicization in the 8th local elections. In particular, attention is paid to the relationship between the centralized politicization of local elections and the low level of civic participation(voting rate and non-voting election, etc.). This study differs from previous studies in that it analyzes election participation activities in virtual space through network analysis methods in addition to existing methods that have studied the impact of centralized politicization on local elections. The main results of the analysis are as follows. As in previous local elections, centralized politicization occurred in the 8th popular election in terms of turnout, the number of non-voting electors, major issues during the election period, and the contents of power user activities in virtual spaces. In other words, it was confirmed again that he was buried in central political issues rather than paying attention to local policy issues during the local elections. Moreover, the centralized politicization of novel media related to local elections has a new negative impact. The centralized politicization of local elections seems necessary to come up with fundamental measures in that local issues are shunned along with the moral hazard of the elected and become a vicious cycle of low civic participation.
