A study on the design method using Jung’s archetype and color psychology for MOBA game characters

This research aims to propose a character design method that establishes the character's internal elements and visually reflects them in its external design, inspiring empathy from the players and enhancing immersion. After analyzing 30 popular League of Legends characters, we found that internal elements such as archetypes significantly affected the external design of the character. Based on the analysis, we proposed a MOBA game character design method using Character Bone Structure, Jungian archetypes, and color psychology. We expect the proposed design method will help create unique characters that spark empathy and increase player immersion.
