This study analyzes the extent to which auto parts companies have their own R&D organization and whether they participate in government R&D support projects affect their business diversification. The sub-contracting stage of delivering parts to finished vehicles was set as a moderating variable. The factors that affect business diversification will vary, such as total sales or profit, profit per employee, and the will of the owner. For the analysis, a logit model was used for the results of a survey of about 2,000 companies. As a result of the multinomial logit model analysis, the probability of business diversification is higher for companies that have their own R&D organization or participate in government R&D projects, and the higher the contract stage and closer relationship with finished car companies, the higher the probability of business diversification. was found to be rather low. It will be meaningful to conduct an additional analysis of various factors influencing future business diversification. and to conduct a panel survey on the same auto parts companies focusing on how changes in the characteristics of these companies affect business diversification.
