녹색금융 활성화를 위한 개선방안 연구

[Purpose]The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the current state of green finance systems in South Korea, as well as global trends and prospects. The aim is to propose ways to promote and advance green finance in South Korea. [Methodology]The research explored means of financing through green finance and investigates the current status of green finance systems in South Korea and worldwide trends and forecasts. Additionally, it analyzes case studies of green finance. [Findings]The following improvement measures to promote green finance (ESG－related finance) in Korea are presented. At the national or government level, the interest in green finance should be informed to the market first. It also proposes to establish sustainable management by operating public－private joint funds, expanding support for green finance to finance small and medium－sized enterprises, supporting investors (tax benefits, etc.), preparing devices to prevent greenwashing and protect investors, and developing insurance products. [Implications]Through case studies and current status analysis of green finance, it is expected that the processes undertaken by leading financial institutions will contribute to the improvement of processes in other financial institutions when building or reconstructing green finance products in the future. By proposing improvement measures for the development of green finance, this research contributes to its activation, serves as a motivation for enhancing companies’ sustainable management capabilities, and highlights the importance of the financial sector in preparing the economy for the era of carbon neutrality.
