윤이상의 <플루트 독주를 위한 연습곡, 1974> 작품분석 및 연주법 제안

본 연구의 목적은 윤이상의 작품 <플루트 독주를 위한 연습곡, 1974>에 나타난 음악적 특징 및 연주법을 분석하여 본 작품을 연주하고자 하는 플루트 연주자들에게 도움을 주는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 윤이상의 생애와 음악적 특징 및 작곡기법, 그리고 플루트 연주기법 등을 알아보았으며, 이를 바탕으로 윤이상의 <플루트 독주를 위한 연습곡, 1974>을 효과적으로 연주하기에 필요한 내용들을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 윤이상의 작품 <플루트 독주를 위한 연습곡, 1974>은 서양음악의 틀 속에 한국 전통음악의 사상과 연주기법을적용하여 서양악기인 플루트의 음색으로 구현해 낼 수 있는 독창적인 현대연주기법들이 잘 나타나 있는 것으로나타났다. 둘째, 윤이상의 작품 <플루트 독주를 위한 연습곡, 1974>에는 윤이상의 가장 중요한 음악적 특징 중하나인 음양의 조화와 동양적인 ‘정중동(靜中動)’의 표현기법이 잘 나타나 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 본 작품의 총 5개의 연습곡은 각각 플루트, 알토플루트, 피콜로, 베이스플루트를 적용하여 다양한 플루트 악기를 종류대로 연습할 수 있도록 구성되었으며, 빠르고 느린 대비를 통해 각 연습곡에 해당하는 악기를 적절하게 표현하도록 차별성 있게 작곡되었다. 본 연구가 윤이상의 작품 <플루트 독주를 위한 연습곡, 1974>을 효과적으로 연주하고자 하는 플루트 연주자들에게 실질적인 도움이 되기를 바란다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the musical characteristics of Isang Yun’s work <Etüden für Flöte(n) solo>(1974) in order to help flutists who want to play this piece effectively. To this end, we investigated Yun’s life and compositional techniques, and analyzed the musical characteristics of Isang Yun’s work <Etüden für Flöte(n) solo>(1974) for flute performers. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, Yun’s work <Etüden für Flöte(n) solo>(1974) represents an original modern performance technique that can be embodied in the tone of the flute, a Western instrument, by applying the ideas and performance techniques of Korean traditional music within the framework of Western music. Second, Yun’s work <Etüden für Flöte(n) solo>(1974) includes the oriental principles of Yin and Yang and the expression technique of oriental “Jung Joong-dong”, one of Yun’s most important musical characteristics. Third, the five pieces of music in this work are composed to practice various flute instruments by applying flute, alto flute, piccolo, and bass flute, respectively. In addition, the songs are organized differently so that the instruments corresponding to each practice song can be properly expressed through quick and slow contrast.
