피해자와 가해자의 성별에 따른 사업장의 성희롱 사건 인식 및 대응수준 분석 연구

The study aimed to investigate the effect of victims’ and perpetrators’ genders and of same- and different-gender cases upon how sexual harassment claims were handled at workplace. Employees from 17 workplaces that experienced both same- and different-gender sexual harassment claims were interviewed. For the purpose of the study, all types of same and different gender harassment claims combinations were addressed, namely, male-female and female-female, male-female and male-male, female-male and female-female, and female-male and male-male cases. The results revealed the effects of victim’s gender, perpetrator’s gender, and same-gender and different-gender cases. The effect was also found in the types and severity of secondary victimisation. The amount of influence perpetrators had in the workplace also had some effect. How the management handled the claims also had some influence on the perpetrator’s behaviour and attitudes following the cliam. The study highlighted the overlooked cases of male victims and female victims of same gender sexual harassment and raised the need to protect and support them. The need to closely monitor how management handles claims and improve the awareness on secondary victimisation was also addressed.
