A Legal Study of Relationship between Judicial Justice and Press Coverage

With the development of big data and artificial intelligence technology, when the public expresses their personal opinions on the we-media platform, it is extremely likely to give rise to fake news and news misrepresentation. Therefore, the legal research on judicial justice and media reporting in the era of artificial intelligence is of critical importance. Harmonious relations between the judiciary and the media can embed the concept of justice deeply in the hearts and minds of the public. It is essential to sow the seeds of the rule of law, establish judicial authority, and then foster an environment of reverence for the law, legal knowledge, and compliance with the rule of law in society as a whole. How to build a harmonious relationship between the judiciary and the media, characterized by constructive interaction and mutual growth, represents the direction of shared efforts of professionals in all related fields at home and abroad. Starting from the current value objectives between judicial activities and media reports, this paper conducts a comprehensive examination of China's practice and development in responding to law-related news reports, and provides preliminary explanations on typical issues, among which, major Chinese cases involve: the case of Zhao Zuohai's vindication in Henan Province (2010), the incident of Yao Jiaxin in Xi'an (2010), the case of Yu Huan in Liaocheng, Shandong Province (2016).At the same time, the author summarizes the issues presented by the relationship between press coverage and judicial justice, and proposes solutions to improve the relationship between the two sides.In the age of artificial intelligence, the judiciary and media organizations should pay more attention to cooperation, also need the participation and supervision of all walks of life, in an effort to let “the people feel fairness and justice in every case”.
