대학 ESG 지표를 통한 대학의 ESG 경영에 대한 고찰: 대학 ESG 가이드라인 V1.0을 중심으로

[Purpose]This study analyzes the ‘University ESG Guidelines V1.0’ released to help domestic universities establish ESG management strategies, and provides implications for universities to set up their own ESG management goals and sustainable management. [Methodology]In order to analyze the guidelines, this study examined the core concept of ESG and reviewed the relevant literature to lay the foundation for the analysis. We extensively reviewed the existing literature, identified ESG management concepts and analysis criteria, and systematically analyzed individual units of ESG that reflect the characteristics of universities. [Findings]The necessary elements for university ESG activities include establishing a curriculum to foster convergent human resources and realizing a win－win economic system through cooperative projects with local communities based on ESG－related education; pursuing active environmental management in the area of environment; realizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the area of social responsibility; and emphasizing transparent, fair, and sustainable decision－making in the area of governance. [Implications]This study systematically analyzes the guidelines for ESG management in universities and provides theoretical and practical implications based on the factors necessary to build a sustainable management environment in universities.
