사회 참여형 학습을 통한 기계제도 온라인 수업 사례

In this paper, we introduce a case where the foundational course of mechanical design education, namely the drafting class, was conducted online. The basic drafting course typically involves teaching students 3D modeling and 2D drafting using computer aided design (CAD) programs, and it is usually conducted in drafting rooms equipped with facilities at each school. However, in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past few years, the drafting classes that were traditionally conducted in laboratories have been completely replaced by 100% online lectures, leading to a rapid and drastic change in teaching methods. Especially in practical classes where it is necessary to immediately assess students’ learning progress, the process of identifying difficulties and providing feedback became challenging with traditional or online teaching methods. In the case presented in this paper, we solved the challenges of conducting online practice classes by using an online video platform to monitor and share students’ practice progress. Additionally, the paper discusses the integration of engaged learning, where the course content is applied to real-life situations, aiming to spark students’ interest in their major courses. Through sharing various cases that occurred during the implementation of engaged learning online, this paper seeks to contribute to understanding the changes in education that lie ahead.
