As the paradigm of the global economy has rapidly shifted to knowledge-based, companies have urgently needed to secure fundamental competitiveness to secure a sustainable competitive advantage. In line with this paradigm shift in the economy, cases of utilizing intellectual property activities as a management tool are increasing. Based on this background, we intend to study the causal relationship between intellectual property activities, knowledge absorption capacity, and management performance. To this end, first, the representativeness and normality of the sample were confirmed, and Pearson's correlation coefficient was calculated by conducting correlation analysis to examine the relevance between measurement variables. Second, after exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was conducted to verify the validity of the measurement model, Cronbach's α value, which is the internal reliability of the item, was calculated to identify the reliability of the measurement tool. Third, multiple regression analysis was applied to verify the causal relationship between research variables, and mediating effect analysis was conducted using a process macro model to find out the mediating effect. As a result of the analysis, there was a positive (+) relationship between intellectual property activities and knowledge absorption capacity, knowledge absorption capacity and management performance, and between intellectual property activities and management performance. appeared to have a mediating effect. When considering future intellectual property-related policies and operations, policy establishment and operation should be made in consideration of the relationship between intellectual property activities, knowledge absorption capacity, and business performance, and changes in innovation called patents through longitudinal cross-sectional research considering the flow of time in the future. It is necessary to verify the relationship in the process.
