Delphi/AHP 분석기법을 활용한 산림 ESG 중요요인 도출

This study aimed to systematically identify and evaluate the important factors of forestry in the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects. Initially, forestry ESG was interpreted as a concept that comprehensively approaches forest management from environmental, social, and governance perspectives. To clarify this concept further, important factors of forestry ESG were analyzed through two rounds of Delphi surveys targeting forestry and ESG experts fields. The survey yielded three major important factors, eleven sub-factors, and twenty-three detailed elements. Subsequent empirical analysis was conducted through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) on these identified forestry ESG factors. This process quantified the relative importance of various forestry ESG factors and aimed to assess their impact on forestry. In the first layer of analysis, the environmental (E) aspect was deemed most important, rated higher in importance than the social (S) and governance (G) aspects. The second layer of analysis revealed that forest carbon absorption, employee safety and rights, forest certification and management plans, forest ecosystem, protection, and restoration ranked high, with three of the top five factors pertaining to the environmental area, emphasizing its significance once again. In the third layer, factors like forest biodiversity, forest certification, and new afforestation/reforestation showed high importance. This research is expected to provide foundational data for forestry companies and institutions to develop ESG strategies and contribute to the development of forestry ESG guidelines and assessment indicators.
