부품국산화 지원을 통한 방산 중소.벤처기업의 육성 방안

This study aims to enhance the global competitiveness of defense companies and revitalize exports, and proposes ways to foster small and medium-sized venture companies in the defense industry through the government’s support for localization of parts. Localization refers to the development and production of equipment, parts (including materials, software), materials, etc. introduced or introduced from abroad in connection with the acquisition of weapons systems and power support systems using technologies, domestic and foreign personnel and facilities, or the development and installation of new parts. There are four major proposals to foster small and medium-sized venture companies in the defense industry through support for localization of parts. The first is to improve the system for localization of core parts. Second, in order to localize parts of the defense industry, Korea needs to unify the operating structure divided into the current Ministry of National Defense and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration or clearly determine the department in charge of TF. Third, it will contribute to fostering excellent defense SMEs and creating jobs in the defense sector by promoting preemptive improvement of the parts-related system and expansion of business. Finally, the government should focus on ‘localization of parts leading the weapons system’, ‘competent parts industry led by companies’, and ‘efficiency of the business system based on cooperation and specialization’ among the ’23 to ’27 Comprehensive Plan for Localization of Parts.
