KBO리그 프로야구단 ESG경영활동에 관한 연구

전 세계적으로 ESG(Environment, Social, Governance) 에 관심이 높아지고 있는 현시점에 프로야구단에서도ESG경영활동이 점차 확산되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는KBO리그 10개 구단에서 진행하고 있는 ESG경영활동을 분석하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 첫 번째 절차로는문헌수집을 하였다. 문헌수집은 문헌자료, 전문자료, 신문기사를 포괄적으로 수집하였다. 두 번째 절차로는프로야구단 실무자, 스포츠산업전공 박사, 체육학전공교수 등 전문가 회의를 거쳐 사례를 분석하였다. 세번째 절차로는 각 구단 홈페이지, App, SNS 게재내용, 인터넷 기사를 폭넓게 수집하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 환경(E)은 기후변화와 탄소배출을 최소화하기 위한 활동들로 모든 구단이 일회용품 사용 줄이기, 종이 입장권 최소화하기, 친환경 원재료로 제작된 응원 도구 및 유니폼 개발등을 진행하고 있었다. 둘째, 사회(S)는 지역사회 기부활동, 취약계층 스포츠활동 지원, 지역사회 건강한신체활동 지원을 하는 구단으로 SSG랜더스, KIA타이거즈, 롯데자이언츠, 한화이글스가 중·장기적으로진행하고 있었다. 지배구조(G)는 구단이 윤리경영을실천하기 위한 시스템 구축, 정책 및 위원회 구성 등으로 KIA타이거즈만이 진행하고 있었다. 결론적으로KBO리그 10개 구단에서 시행하고 있는 ESG경영활동사례를 분석할 수 있었으며, 향후 프로스포츠 ESG경영전략을 수립하는데 기초자료를 제공하길 기대한다.
Abstract
At a time when interest in ESG is increasing around the world, ESG management activities are gradually spreading among professional baseball teams. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze ESG management activities conducted by 10 KBO league clubs. The first procedure was literature collection. The literature collection was comprehensive, including literature data, professional data, and newspaper articles. In the second procedure, the case was analyzed through a meeting of experts, including professional baseball team experts, sports industry doctors, and physical education professors. In the third procedure, we collected a wide range of information from each club's website, App, SNS postings, and Internet articles. The results of the study are as follows. First, the Environment(E) was activities to minimize climate change and carbon emissions, and all clubs were reducing the use of disposable products, minimizing paper tickets, and developing cheering tools and uniforms made of eco-friendly raw materials. Second, Social(S) is a club that supports community donation activities, sports activities for the vulnerable, and healthy physical activities in the community, and SSG Landers, KIA Tigers, Lotte Giants, and Hanwha Eagles were conducting mid- to long-term. The governance structure(G) was under way only by KIA Tigers due to the establishment of a system for the club to practice ethical management, policies, and the formation of a committee. In conclusion, we were able to analyze the cases of ESG management activities implemented by 10 KBO league clubs, and we hope to provide basic data on professional sports ESG management in the future.
