초록
Education is an important part of Christian ministry. A Christian educator, no matter where he or she is employed, i.e. in a Christian or secular institution, takes one’s teaching responsibilities in the context of the service of the Church. In view of teaching students in Christian education, including higher education, we argue that a careful integration of faith and learning is required. This is because the present world takes a view on truth that is drastically different from the Scripture. The purpose of this paper is to provide a philosophy of Christian education. Accordingly, in this study we first establish a definition for integration and delineate the process of integration. We then develop a biblical and philosophical foundation for integration. In particular, we propose a philosophy of integration by specifying the metaphysics, epistemology and axiology of Christian education.
