해양수산 기업의 수익과 고용 간의 관계 분석 - 재무제표를 이용한 패널 VAR 분석 -

This study aims to examine the relationship between revenue and employment within maritime and fisheries companies. In pursuit of this objective, a comprehensive panel dataset has been curated, encompassing the financial statements of 5,639 maritime and fisheries companies spanning the period from 2011 to 2019 across 14 nations. By employing Granger causality tests based on a panel VAR (Vector Autoregressive) model, this study tests two primary hypotheses: first, that revenue or net income Granger-causes the number of employees in a company, and second, the converse. The analysis reveals a nuanced picture, with varying outcomes across different countries. Notably, in the case of South Korea, the findings lean more towards the second hypothesis. Despite inherent limitations in the available data and the Granger causality testing method, this study has identified a noteworthy association between the profits and employment of maritime and fisheries companies. This finding will help fill a gap in this field.
