청소년 약물 오남용 경험이 자살 생각, 자살 계획, 자살 시도에 미치는 영향

‘나비약’, ‘펜타닐패치’ 등 우울증, 다이어트, ADHD 치료 등에 쓰이는 의료용 마약류 등 다양한 중독성향 약물에 대한 오남용 문제가 청소년을 대상으로 최근 급증하고 있어 심각성을 볼 수 있다. 이와동시에 청소년 주요 사망 원인이 자살인데, 약물 오남용으로 인한 자살 시도 등으로 응급실을 찾는 청소년이 증가하는 것으로 나타나 청소년의 약물 오남용과 자살과 같은 사회문제에 대한 연관성을 실증연구를 통해 검증해 볼 필요가 있었다. 이 연구를 수행하고자 질병관리청과 교육부에서 주관하는 “제17차(2021년) 청소년건강행태조사” 2차데이터의 총 54,848개의 표본 자료를 분석하였다. 로지스틱회귀분석을 실시하여 청소년 약물 오남용 경험이 자살 생각, 자살 계획, 자살 시도와의 관계를 분석하였다. 분석결과 청소년 자살 생각, 계획, 시도에 약물 오남용 경험이 유의미한 영향요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 청소년의 자살 행동을 예방하기 위하여 약물 예방 교육프로그램 운영의 정책의 필요성을 시사한다.
Abstract
The problem of misuse of various addictive drugs such as depression such as “butterfly medicine” and “fentanyl patch” and medical drugs used to treat ADHD is increasing rapidly in adolescents, which can be seen as serious. At the same time, suicide is the main cause of death in adolescents, and the number of adolescents visiting the emergency room has increased due to suicide attempts due to drug abuse, so it was necessary to verify the relationship between drug abuse and social problems such as suicide through empirical studies. A total of 54,848 sample data from the second data of the 17th (2021) Youth Health Behavior Survey organized by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Ministry of Education were analyzed to conduct this study. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship between adolescent drug abuse experience with suicidal thoughts, suicidal planning, and suicide attempts. As a result of the analysis, the experience of drug abuse was found to be a significant influencing factor on adolescent suicidal thoughts, plans, and attempts. These findings suggest the necessity of a policy for operating a drug prevention education program to prevent suicidal behavior of adolescents.
