형상 문법을 활용한 강족 자수 문양 디자인 연구 -강족 자수 계승자인 양화진의 슈에무라 패키지 문양 디자인을 중심으로-

초록
현재 중국의 전통 문양은 보존과 혁신 사이에서 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 강족 자수 문양의 혁신적 발전을 위해 형상 문법을 기반으로 한 설계 방안을 제안하여 다양한 분야에 적용할 수 있도록 하고자 한다. 이 방법은 문양의 예술적 특성을 최대한 유지하면서도 현대적인 미적 요구에 부합하도록 설계되었다. 분석을 위해 형상문법 설계 프로세스를 다섯 가지 단계로 나누어 세 단계로 압축하여 진행했다. 첫째는 샘플 수집과 원본 문양 소재 라이브러리 구축이며 둘째는 샘플 추출, 셋째는 문양 추론 및 생성 설계 방안이다. 분석 대상은 강족 자수의 계승자인 양화진이 세계적으로 유명한 화장품 브랜드인 수에무라(SHU EMURA)를 위해 디자인한 포장 문양이다. 먼저 디자인 프로세스를 분석하고 수에무라 포장 문양을 원문양과 비교하여 형상 문법의 예술적 특성과 혁신적 적용 가능성을 탐구했다. 분석 결과, 수에무라의 최종 설계 방안은 설계 아이디어에 따라 원본 문양을 일부 혁신했음을 나타낸다. 온라인의 특성에서는 자유 곡선의 특징을 유지하면서 선의 움직임과 양을 적절하게 조정했다. 면의 특징에서는 자유곡선형을 채택하고 주제의 넓은 면적이 화면의 중심을 차지하며, 주변 작은 면적의 꽃봉오리와 대비되는 특징을 유지하고 주변 작은 면적의 꽃봉오리의 수를 조정했다. 구성적 특징에서는 방사선 구도를 유지하고 구도를 회전 조정했다. 이러한 조정은 모두 강족 자수 문양의 예술적 특성을 최대한 보존하는 데 기반을 두며, 디자인 아이디어의 필요에 따라 문양을 혁신적으로 적용했다. 본 연구는 형상 문법을 적용한 강족 자수 문양 추론 방법의 타당성과 유효성을 확인하여, 전통 문양의 혁신과 발전을 위한 새로운 아이디어를 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다. 또한, 현대 디자인에서 전통적인 문양 디자인 요소의 추출 및 적용과 혁신 개발을 위한 새로운 아이디어를 모색할 때 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
Currently, traditional Chinese patterns are struggling between preservation and innovation. Therefore, in this study, for the innovative development of the Kangjok embroidery pattern, a design plan based on shape grammar is proposed so that it can be applied to various fields. This method is designed to meet modern aesthetic needs while maintaining the artistic characteristics of the pattern as much as possible. For the analysis, the shape grammar design process was divided into five stages and compressed into three stages. The first is sample collection and the construction of the original pattern material library, the second is sample extraction, and the third is the pattern inference and generation design method. The analysis target is a packaging pattern designed by Yang Hwa-jin, the successor of Kangjok embroidery, for SHU EMURA, a world-famous cosmetic brand. First, the design process was analyzed and the Suemura packaging pattern was compared with the original pattern to explore the artistic characteristics and innovative applicability of shape grammar. The analysis shows that Suemura's final design plan partially innovated the original pattern according to the design idea. All of these adjustments are based on preserving the artistic characteristics of the strong-foot embroidery pattern as much as possible, and the patterns were innovatively applied according to the needs of design ideas. This study is meaningful in that it presented new ideas for innovation and development of traditional patterns by confirming the validity and effectiveness of the method of inferring the pattern of strong-legged embroidery applying shape grammar. In addition, it is expected that it can be effectively utilized when seeking new ideas for the extraction and application of traditional pattern design elements in modern design and innovative development.
