초록
본 연구는 한국회계학회의 창립 50주년을 맞이하여 회원통계, 학회발간 학술지인 「회계학연구」와 「회계저널」, 그리고 학회의 태동과 성장에 공헌한회원과 인터뷰한 내용을 바탕으로 학회 50년간의 성과와 미래상을 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 나타난 한국회계학회의 지난 50년의 중요한 성과는 다음과같다. 첫째, 1973년 창립총회에서 총 10명의 임원진으로 출범한 한국회계학회는 2022년 말 현재 회원 수 3,027명으로 사회과학 분야의 대표적 학회로 성장하였다. 둘째, 2022년 말 현재 「회계학연구」 및 「회계저널」에 게재된 논문은 각각 1,103편 및 1,336편이었고, 이중 학회의 성숙기(2012년∼현재)에 게재된 논문의비중이 각각 44.0%(485편) 및 54.0%(722편)에 이를 정도로 회원들의 연구 활동이 매우 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 특히, 「회계학연구」와 「회계저널」 모두 인용지수, 자기 인용 비율, 영향력 지수 등 각종 지표가 사회과학 분야 학술지 973개의 평균을 크게 상회하여 우수 학술지의 지위를 굳히고 있다. 셋째, 회원과의 인터뷰를 통해서 확인된 학회사업의 핵심 성과는 국제교류 강화, 국제회계기준(IFRS) 도입의 기틀 마련, 학술지 활성화, 회원 간 소통및 교류, 학회재정 건전화, 학술지의 SSCI 등재 추진, 사회 투명성 제고 등이었다. 본 연구의 결과는 새로운 50년을 향한 한국회계학회의 성공적인 출발에 의미 있는 방향을 제시할 것으로 기대한다. 특히 회원의 목소리를 통해 나타난학회의 미래상(국제교류 강화, 학문적 성과의 실무와의 연계성 제고, 회계학 영역 확대 및 학제적 연구 활성화 등)에 대한 바람은 앞으로 한국회계학회가비전과 전략을 고도화하는 과정에 중요한 나침반이 될 것이다.
Abstract
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean Accounting Association(KAA), this study takes a look back over its history and documents its achievements during the last 50 years. Especially, this study focuses on the growth and success of its membership as well as its academic journals(‘Korean Accounting Research’ and ‘Korean Accounting Journal’) based on simple but multi-dimensional statistical analyses. In addition, this study conveys the messages and insight of 28 honorable senior members who have contributed to the birth and growth of the KAA. This study is expected to make a meaningful contribution by providing a clue on the sustainable growth and another success of the KAA for the next 50 years. In particular, the voices of the honorable senior members on the future of the KAA delivered in this study will work as an important compass for updating its vision and strategy in accordance with the recent changes in business and academic environment.
