Watching the Ethiopian Tef case lead to international litigation with the Netherlands, I think it is a good example that shows that international litigation (silent bio war) can occur at any time if the national competitiveness and economic foundation are weak, so there is a lot of interest in the government and companies. We need to respond with interest. In particular, Korea is highly dependent on foreign genetic resources, so the benefit-sharing system for genetic resources must be well defined. Since the Nagoya Protocol came into effect, there have been cases where patents for genetic resources and traditional knowledge applied by multinational companies in developed countries were canceled or withdrawn to improve the company's image, so Korean companies should also pay attention.
