초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of emotional intelligence and companionship on length of employment. In addition this study will explore a mediating effect of companionship between emotional intelligence and length of employment. To achieve this, an online survey was conducted targeting the Millennial and Generation Z (MZ) workforce. The sample was collected from employees with a total work experience of less than 10 years. The sample of this study consisted of working professionals attending school, and the survey was conducted by requesting participation from their workplace colleagues. For each individual, surveys were conducted regarding companionship in the company with the maximum length of employment and maximum years of service, as well as emotional intelligence. The research results indicate that emotional intelligence, specifically emotional utilization significantly influences companionship. Companionship, in turn, has a significant impact on the length of employment. However, companionship did not serve as a significant mediator between emotional intelligence and length of employment. Emotional intelligence has been studied in various aspects of organizational effectiveness. The significance of this study lies in examining the organizational effects of emotional intelligence in relation to employee tenure. While emotional intelligence did not directly show a significant effect on colleague awareness, it was found to influence tenure through colleague awareness.
