데이터 시각화를 활용한 ESG 교육이 학습자의 사회적 가치 인식에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 대학에서 ESG 교육의 효과적인 방법론을 제시하기 위해 데이터 시각화를 활용하였다. ESG 교육에서 중요한 것은 ESG 현상을 실제로 인식하고 관심을 가져 생활 속에서 ESG를 실천하도록 하는 것이다. 데이터 시각화를 교육에 활용하면, 학습자 주도에 따라 ESG 데이터를 수집하고 탐색하여 ESG에 대한 현실적인 이슈를 도출할 수 있다. 이러한 과정 중에 학습자는 기업, 정부, 지역사회 등 다각도의 관점에서 ESG를 이해하게 되고 현안에 관심을 갖게 되면서 능동적으로 행동하게 된다. 다시 말해 학습에서의 자기주도적 태도가 스스로 문제를 찾고 해결하려는 사회적 가치 창출로 이어진다는 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 데이터 시각화를 활용한 수업이 ESG가 추구하는 사회적 가치 인식에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는지 확인해 보고자 하였다. 서울 소재 S 대학에 2023년 1·2학기동안 적용할 수 있는 교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 남녀 총 88명을 대상으로 수업을 실시한 후 결과물로 나온 설문조사, 과제수행계획서를 활용하여 사회적 가치 인식의 변화를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 ESG 교육의 방법론으로서 데이터 시각화의 가능성을 확인해 보았다.
Abstract
This study utilized data visualization to propose an effective methodology for ESG education in university. An important aspect of ESG education is to make students aware of and interested in ESG in a practical way so that they can practice ESG in their daily lives. By using data visualization in education, learners can collect and explore ESG data according to their own interests to find realistic issues involving ESG. Through this process, learners can understand ESG from multiple perspectives, including corporate, government, and community, and become more proactive. In other words, learners' self-directed attitude leads to the creation of social value by finding and solving problems on their own. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether a class using data visualization has a positive impact on the perception of social values pursued by ESG. This study developed an education program for S University in Seoul for 1-2 semesters in 2023 and conducted classes for a total of 88 men and women. Afterward, the resulting surveys and assignment plans were used to analyze changes in social value perceptions. The aim is to explore the potential of data visualization as an effective methodology for ESG education.
