뉴스페이스 시대 우주산업은 기술적 혁신과 민간 부문의 활발한 참여로 급격한 발전을 이루고 있다. 특히 일론 머스크가 이끄는 미국의 민간우주탐사 기업 스페이스 X에 의한 재사용 로켓 기술 발전이 우주 산업에 혁명적인 변화를 가져왔다. 이러한 재사용 로켓 기술의 진보는 우주 발사 비용을 크게 절감시켜, 위성 발사 횟수의 증가와 위성 데이터 비용이 감소할 것으로 예측된다. 인공위성을 통해 취득된 영상은 기본적인 지도 제작부터 국방 분야 및 재해/재난 감시에 이르기까지 다양한 분야에서 활용될 수 있는 유용한 정보로 이는 정보통신기술(ICT)의 융합을 통해 활용성이 증가할 것으로 본다. 2023년 과학기술부의 우주산업 실태 조사에 따르면 위성 활용 서비스 및 장비 분야의 활동 금액은 68%를 차지하며 이 분야의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 뉴스페이스 시대적 변화에 주목하며 국내외 우주산업의 시장 현황과 위성영상을 활용하는 플랫폼의 인터랙션 GUI 디자인을 분석함으로써 우주산업 플랫폼의 특성을 파악하고자 한다. 이를 통해 향후 플랫폼 디자인 개발 방향에 대한 발전 방향을 모색하고자 한다.
Abstract
The space industry in the NewSpace era is undergoing rapid development due to technological innovations and active participation from the private sector. Particularly, the advancements in reusable rocket technology led by Elon Musk's SpaceX have brought revolutionary changes to the space industry. The progress in reusable rocket technology is expected to significantly reduce the cost of space launches, leading to an increase in satellite launch frequency and a reduction in the cost of satellite data. The imagery acquired through satellites can provide useful information for various applications, from basic map-making to defense and disaster monitoring, and its utility is expected to increase through the integration with Information and Communication Technology (ICT). According to a 2023 survey on the state of the space industry by the Ministry of Science and Technology, activities in the satellite utilization services and equipment sector account for 68%, highlighting the importance of this area. The purpose of this study is to focus on the changes in the NewSpace era and analyze the market status of the space industry domestically and internationally, as well as the interaction GUI design of platforms utilizing satellite imagery, in order to understand the characteristics of space industry platforms. Through this, we aim to explore directions for the development of platform design in the future.
