코로나19 팬데믹 재난 대응 업무를 경험한 정신건강사회복지사의 이차적 외상스트레스가 소진에 미치는 영향 : 회복탄력성과 사회적 지지의 다중매개효과와 재난대응 참여 여부 다집단 분석

This study examined the impact of secondary traumatic stress on burnout among mental health social workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and the mediating role of resilience and social support in this relationship while testing a group difference bewteen those who had training on disaster and who had not. We recruited 279 participants throughout Korea. The results are as follows: First, secondary traumatic stress directly impacted burnout and influenced resilience and social support, which in turn affected burnout negatively. Mediating effects of resilience and social support were significant in the relationship between secondary traumatic stress and burnout. When a group difference was tested between participants with disaster training and those without, those who directly involved in the disaster training showed a stronger path from secondary traumatic stress to burnout, and mediating effects were significant only in this group. We discussed ways to enhance resilience and social support through supervision, case conferences, and staff meetings to better maintain human resources and improve the personal life quality of mental health social workers in the midst social disasters like the COVID-19 pandemic.
