가상자산 범죄의 형사정책적 대응 방안 연구; 뉴스기사 키워드 분석을 중심으로

With the advancement of virtual asset technology, the methods of crimes using these assets have diversified, and the number of incidents has increased. This study aims to analyze the public's perception and response to virtual asset crimes, thereby guiding the formulation of crime response policies. Data from news articles and comments related to virtual asset crimes, explicitly focusing on May 2022 to July 2023 during the Terra and Luna crash, were collected to achieve this. The data were analyzed using text mining techniques such as word frequency analysis and network analysis to identify public interest, and a time series analysis of the volume of articles and comments was conducted to investigate the trends in public opinion. The findings reveal a discrepancy between the media's emphasis on factual details, often sourced from police press releases and the public's strong demand for in-depth investigations and stringent punishments for virtual asset crimes. The public's reaction to the Terra and Luna crash is especially telling, with a significant call for thorough investigations and equitable punishments. This study underscores the need to develop investigative methods and strengthen domestic and international coordination systems to address virtual asset crimes. Furthermore, it accentuates the necessity of institutional and personnel arrangements for researching emerging criminal methods derived from new technologies. The insights gained are expected to aid in formulating comprehensive strategies for addressing crimes in the era of technological advancement, extending beyond just virtual asset-related offenses.
