日本語の派生名詞と名詞志向性に関する分析ー「高さ」と「低さ」を事例にー

本稿では日本語の名詞志向性を反映する派生語でありながら、形容詞的な名詞としても分類される「高さ」のコロケーションを文の成分に分けて検討した。「高さが」と共起する述語の中では知覚や理解と関わるもの、原因や理由と関わるもの、特徴と関わるものなどが約9割を占めていた。「高さを」と共起する述語の中では特徴の提示と関わるもの、知覚や理解と関わるもの、保持と関わるものが約8割を占めていた。そして「高さ」を含む述語の場合は高い程度を表す事例の割合が40％で、主語や目的語のケースと比べてその割合が非常に高かった。さらに、本稿では「低さ」のコロケーションを文の成分に分けて検討した上で、「高さ」のコロケーションと比較を行った。「高さが」は知覚や理解を表す述語と共起する割合が相対的に高かったのに対して「低さが」は原因や理由を表す述語と共起する割合が相対的に高かった。また、「高さを」や「低さを」は両方とも特徴の提示を表す述語と共起する頻度が最も高かった。そして「高さ」が高い程度を表す述語の割合と「低さ」が低い程度を表す述語の割合はそれぞれ40％と54.54％で主語や目的語のケースと比べてその割合が非常に高かった。
Abstract
This paper analyzed the collocations of '高さ', which is a derivative word reflecting the noun orientation of Japanese, and also classified as an adjective-like noun. About 90% of the predicates co-occurring with '高さが' were divided into four types. About 80% of the predicates co-occurring with '高さを' were divided into three types. Furthermore, in this paper, after analyzing the collocations of '低さ' by dividing them into sentence components, the result was compared with the collocations of '高さ'. '高さが' had a relatively high rate of co-occurrence with predicates expressing perception and understanding. In addition, both '高さを' and '低さを' were most frequently co-occurring with predicates expressing the presentation of characteristics. And the ratio of predicates expressing a high degree of '高さ' and '低さ' were much higher compared to the cases of subjects and objects.
