메타버스 산업 내 로블록스(Roblox)와 네이버 제트의 재무정보 비교 사례 연구

[Purpose] This study aims to analyze the business strategies and competitiveness of Roblox and Naver Z, which are representative companies in the metaverse platform business, through the analysis of their financial information. The market size of the metaverse industry, which is receiving global attention, is expected to increase explosively, and various companies within different industries are increasing their investments for business expansion into the metaverse domain. However, the metaverse industry is still in the introductory phase, and profits are not being generated relative to its growth potential. Additionally, considerable investments in IT, various creative content development, and research and development are required, resulting in significant financial burdens for companies investing in the related industries. [Methodology] Accordingly, this study aims to understand the business strategies of Roblox and Naver Z and evaluate their profitability, financial stability, and liquidity based on the interpretation of their financial information. [Findings] While continuous investments across various fields for platform expansion are exceeding revenues, resulting in delayed reporting of net profits, it is expected that the corporate value will enhance in the long run. This anticipation is based on the premise that as the metaverse ecosystem is established, if both companies secure leading positions, their value will increase. [Implications] This study is expected to provide an understanding of the management and financial strategies of the metaverse industry, offering valuable information for both academic research and practical application.
