초록
디지털 대전환은 빠르게 진행되고 있으며, 융합의 시대를 촉발하고 있다. ‘융합’은 기술과 기술의 결합, 온라인과 오프라인의 결합이 대표적일 것이다. 이러한 ‘융합’은 가상현실(Virtual Reality, VR), 증강현실(Augmented Reality, AR), 혼합현실(Mixed Reality, MR) 등이 대표적이다. 여기에서 한 걸음 더 나아가 현실세계를 가상공간에 구현하는 플랫폼의 의미인 ‘메타버스’가 있다. 메타버스 개념은 2021년부터 폭넓게 논의되었으며, 최근 몇 년 사이에 의료분야에서 메타버스에 관한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 ‘메타버스 의료(Metaverse Medicine)’ 또는 ‘의료 메타버스(Medical Metaverse)’라는 용어가 등장하였다. 그러나 이러한 용어는 현재 명확하게 국제적으로 공식화된 용어가 정립된 것은 아니며, 다양한 용어들을 혼용하여 사용하고 있다. 이에 따라 의료 메타버스 또는 메타버스 의료에 대한 개념 정립이 필요한 상황이다. 이에 더하여 메타버스 기술과 의료행위가 결합하는 경우 어떻게 활용될 것인지 살펴볼 필요성이 있다. 그리고 이러한 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 문제점은 무엇이며, 그에 따른 해결 방법을 도출할 필요가 있다. 향후 메타버스는 지속적으로 융복합 서비스로 발전할 것이며, 메타버스 의료도 동시에 발전할 것이다. 그러나 메타버스 의료는 현재의 규범 체계에서 상당한 도전에 직면하게 될 것이다. 이러한 도전적 상황은 반드시 해결해야 하는 문제이다. 따라서 메타버스 의료 내에서 새로운 기술이 등장하였을 때 이를 어떻게 받아들일 것인가는 편면적 문제는 아니다. 즉 이것은 윤리적・정책적・법률적 문제 등 복합적인 것이다. 이러한 복합적 문제 해결을 위한 방안이 모색되어야 한다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 메타버스 의료 내에서 의료인과 환자 모두 새로운 기술에 대한 이해와 함께 사용할 수 있는 환경을 만들어야 한다. 결국 현재의 보건의료체계는 미래지향적인 방향으로 나아가야 할 것이고, 새로운 기술을 적용하며 개선해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The digital transformation is progressing rapidly and is triggering an era of convergence. Convergence' will be a representative combination of technology and technology, and online and offline. Such 'convergence' is representative of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and the like. One step further from here is the 'metaverse', which is the meaning of a platform that implements the real world in a virtual space. The concept of the metaverse has been widely discussed since 2021, and interest in the metaverse has been increasing in the medical field in recent years. Accordingly, the terms 'metaverse medicine' or 'medical metaverse' have emerged. However, these terms have not been clearly established internationally and are used interchangeably. Accordingly, it is necessary to establish the concept of medical metaverse or metaverse medical care. In addition to this, it is necessary to look at how metaverse technology and medical practice will be combined. And what are the problems that may arise in this process, and it is necessary to derive solutions accordingly. In the future, the metaverse will continue to develop into an integrated service, and metaverse healthcare will develop at the same time. However, metaverse healthcare will face considerable challenges in the current normative system. This challenging situation is a problem that must be solved. Therefore, when a new technology emerges in metaverse healthcare, how to accept it is not a one-sided question. In other words, this is a combination of ethical, policy, and legal issues. Solutions to these complex problems must be sought. Through this process, it is necessary to create an environment in metaverse healthcare where both medical personnel and patients can use it with understanding of new technologies. After all, the current health care system will have to move in a future-oriented direction, apply new technologies, and improve.
