Digital Invoice Tokens for Inclusive Global Supply Chains

The adoption of invoice tokens in global supply chains presents a transformative opportunity for enhanced interoperability and inclusiveness. This paper explores the potential of blockchain-based invoice tokens to expand market opportunities for SMEs in formulating the inclusive supply chain. Instead of focusing on payment tokens for global trade, we highlight the role of invoice tokens as collateral for regulated environment where wCBDC can be used for final settlement. The design choice of digital tokens, blockchain, and the governance remains important to increase the network effects for the digital platform of supply chain.
