초록
Early-warning radar systems, which typically employ parabolic antennas for two dimensional(2D) radar configurations, prioritize maintainability. Installation at elevated sites introduces a phenomenon where, as sea-surface targets approach, they intersect with the lower section of the radar beam, thus broadening its base. This broadening effect results in the splitting of single targets into apparent multiples as they approach each other. This paper proposes a software-based method for limiting the effective beamwidth of parabolic antenna-based 2D radar systems to mitigate the target splitting of close-range maritime targets.
