자금조달전략이 은행 수익성 및 경영 안정성에 미치는 영향: 시장성수신 및 비이자수익을 중심으로

This study focuses on the recent SVB bankruptcy using bank account data from commercial banks from 2001 to 2022. We analyze the impact of bank wholesale funding and non-interest income on bank profitability and management stability in domestic banks' financing and business activities. The wholesale funding ratio has a significant positive (+) effect on bank profitability, but the non-interest income ratio does not have a significant impact, and no significant correlation is drawn with management stability. From a short and long-term perspective, the higher the proportion of short-term wholesale funding, the more favorable it is for bank profitability and management stability, but the increase in the proportion of long-term wholesale funding does not have a significant impact on bank profit and has a considerably negative effect on management stability. This suggests that it is necessary to focus on the increase in short-term wholesale funding in terms of profitability, operating activities such as non-interest income that do not help the bank's overall profit, and the proportion of long-term wholesale funding such as financial bonds negatively affecting bank stability.
