혁신 저해 요인이 서비스 기업의 혁신 성과에 미치는 영향

The life cycle of products and services has shortened, and the cost of developing new products and services has increased, increasing the importance of innovation in management. As the service industry has different characteristics from the manufacturing industry, there is a need for innovation research that takes this into account. This study empirically analyzed the inhibiting factors of innovation that affected service companies that succeeded in innovation using data from the Korean Enterprise Innovation Survey (KIS). The results of this study are as follows. We found that lack of external funding and excessive innovation costs, lack of talented human resources, lack of collaborative partners, lack of external knowledge acquisition, differences in priorities, preferences, and opinions about innovation within the company, and lack of information about markets and technologies significantly affect innovation performance. Distinctively, we find that lack of information about markets and technologies has a positive effect on innovation performance, suggesting that an excessive amount of information can actually inhibit innovation.
