성향점수매칭(PSM)과 이중차분법(DID)을 활용한 기업의 디지털 전환 핵심 기술 도입에 따른 효과 분석: 고용, 지식재산권, 매출을 중심으로

본 연구는 기업의 디지털 전환 핵심 기술 도입이 고용, 지식재산권, 매출에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 통계청의「기업활동조사」자료를 이용하여 2018년을 기준으로 해당연도에 처음으로 디지털 전환 핵심 기술을 개발 또는 활용한 기업을 처치집단으로 선정하였다. 이후, 성향점수매칭(PSM) 기법으로 1:1의 유사한 통제집단을 선정하였으며, 2017 년~2021년(5년)의 균형패널데이터를 구축하여 패널 고정효과모형으로 이중차분(DID) 추정값을 계산하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 중소기업 측면에서 디지털 전환 핵심 기술을 개발 또는 활용한 기업은 지식재산권 수와 상시근로자 수의 증가율에 유의한 정(+)의 효과를 보였다. 이는 정부의 제4차 과학기술기본계획(2018~2022년)의 정책 방향과도 부합하는결과이며 중소기업의 디지털 전환 핵심 기술 활용을 통한 고용이나 지식재산권 창출 지원책을 지속적으로 지원할 필요성이 있다고 판단된다. 둘째, 중소기업과 대기업 모두 매출액 증가에는 유의한 효과가 없었다. 이는 디지털 전환 핵심기술이 단순한 지식재산권 확대의 양적인 측면만이 아닌, 사업화와 연관된 성과 기반의 정책으로 수립될 필요가 있음을시사한다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the effects of corporate introduction of technology for the digital transformation on employment, intellectual property rights, and sales. As a result of the study, first, companies that developed or used technology for the digital transformation in terms of SMEs showed a significant positive (+) effect on the number of intellectual property rights and the increase rate of the number of full-time workers. This is a result consistent with the policy direction of the government's `4th Basic Plan for Science and Technology (2018-2022), and it can be seen that the need to continuously support measures to create employment or intellectual property rights through the use of technology related to the digital transformation is recognized. Second, both SMEs and large corporations had no significant effect on the increase in sales. This suggests that technology related to the digital transformation needs to be established as a performance-based policy related to commercialization, not just a quantitative aspect of the expansion of intellectual property rights.
