[Purpose]This study examines how psychological traits and profit-oriented motivation affect entrepreneurial intentions between overseas Chinese students in South Korea, considering the moderating role of social support. [Methodology]Through a literature review and survey, the purpose of this study was to develop a research model and hypotheses. A survey, utilizing a 5-point Likert scale, was administered to 517 Chinese international students. [Findings]The findings indicate that self-efficacy, achievement needs, and profit focus positively affect intention to pursue entrepreneurship. Moreover, social support partially moderates these associations. [Implications]The achievement needs and profit orientation of Chinese students are helpful in stimulating their entrepreneurial motivation. It is crucial to prioritize building a social support network to nurture potential entrepreneurs.
