초록
The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of university students who participated as volunteers in a disability sports program. These experiences are examined based on Kolb’s experiential learning theory. To achieve this, nine undergraduate students majoring in physical education who participated in the talent donation program of a local disability sports program at University A during the second semester of the 2023 academic year. Their participation were observed and their volunteer diaries were collected. Additionally, three groups were formed based on their academic year, and focus group interviews were conducted. According to the results of the study, older students who had extensive experience participating in the same or similar programs showed an experiential learning pattern that progressed to advanced stages in Kolb's theory. Specifically, abstract conceptualization(step 3) and active experimentation(step 4) were demonstrated. Furthermore, it was observed that most fourth-year students chose career paths related to adapted physical education. Overall, this study confirms the positive impact of talent donation volunteer activities on the multifaceted growth and career choices of college students.
