우리나라 공공부문의 ESG 도입 활성화 방안에 관한 연구: 국내외 도입사례를 중심으로

Recently, discussions regarding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) have been actively conducted both domestically and internationally. ESG encompasses non-financial elements of a company, contrasting with the past emphasis on financial value. The significance of non-financial value has emerged, leading to a global effort to implement ESG management. In addition to the corporate sector, there is a growing inquiry into the necessity of adopting ESG management within the public sector. Given Korea's economic and industrial landscape, characterized by a significant public sector presence and the expansion of public enterprises internationally, the activation of ESG within Korea's public sector is imperative. It is crucial to develop ESG management strategies tailored to the unique characteristics of these institutions and aligned with the country's environmental and regulatory standards, as public institutions possess corporate-like features and hold accountability to the populace. The purpose of this study is to analyze the activation plan for ESG within Korea's public sector, focusing on both domestic and international case studies. This study aims to analyze major trends in domestic and international ESG management through a review of existing literature, highlight the necessity of introducing ESG principles in Korea's public sector, examine case studies of ESG implementation in the public sector both domestically and internationally, enhance understanding of major ESG management trends, and propose strategies to invigorate ESG adoption within Korea's public sector.
