한국 상업교육의 과거, 현재 그리고 미래: 텍스트마이닝 기법을 중심으로

Korean business education is facing a crisis. The curriculum of commercial high schools fails to meet the job suitability requirements of businesses, resulting in a decline in the desire to enroll in commercial high schools. However, existing research on business education has focused on fact-finding or exploratory studies, limiting the ability to derive solutions for revitalizing commercial education. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to review past and present issues in domestic business education and to identify recent issues in American business education in order to propose strategies for revitalizing future Korean business education. To achieve this, we applied the LDA topic modeling method to analyze the abstracts of papers published from the inaugural issue to the June 2024 issue of "Journal of Commercial Education," the only academic journal dedicated to commercial education in Korea, to identify the main issues of the past and present in Korean business education. Furthermore, to suggest a future direction for revitalizing domestic business education, we employed keyword network analysis to examine the abstracts of research published since 2015 in "Academy of Management Learning and Education," a leading American journal on business education. The results indicate that past research on Korean business education focused on the overall improvement and enhancement of business education. Current research emphasizes the need for a practice-oriented curriculum based on the needs of commercial high schools, the establishment of systematic specialized high school programs, and the changing direction of finance and economics courses in business education. In contrast, American commercial education pursues sustainable business education through a variety of educational agendas, including issues such as motivation-based learning, evidence-based learning, communication-centered teaching methods, and business ethics.
