성향점수매칭법을 이용한 청소년 자살시도 유형별 영향 요인 분석

This study utilized data from the 18th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey (2022) to analyze the personal crisis experience, mental health, health behaviors, and suicide-related behaviors of adolescents. Suicide attempts were classified into impulsive and planned attempts based on the presence of suicidal thoughts and plans. Data were refined using propensity score matching and nearest neighbor matching by R 4.0.3, and complex sample logistic regression analysis was conducted using SPSS 23.0. The findings revealed that impulsive suicide attempts were significantly influenced by experiences of sexual activity, exposure to violence, and feelings of loneliness. In contrast, planned suicide attempts were associated with sexual activity, exposure to violence, high levels of stress, loneliness, generalized anxiety disorder, depressive experiences, and recent alcohol and tobacco use. Negative personal crisis experiences were found to increase the risk of impulsive suicide attempts. If these attempts were unsuccessful and the underlying issues remained unresolved, there was a heightened likelihood that the adolescents would progress to planned suicide attempts, exacerbated by worsening mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress. Thus, it is crucial to provide psychological counseling and mental health intervention programs for adolescents who have experienced negative personal events to help them manage their emotions and circumstances. In conclusion, tailored interventions based on the type of suicide attempt are necessary for the effective prevention of adolescent suicide.
